Site layout trashed
IE 7.0.5730.13
Firefox 3.0.7
I've got IE 6, FF 3.0.7 and Safari mobile here at the house and the site looks fine to me. Since I can't replicate the issue there isn't much I can do to troubleshoot it at the moment. I'll take a look at it with a bunch of browser versions on Monday when I get into work.
I've checked it with FF 3.0.7 from multiple computers and I cannot recreate the problem either... try clearing your cache & cookies, and if you just installed any new FF plugins, disable them and see if that fixes it.
I'm actually experiencing the same problem, running Firefox 3.0.7 on Ubuntu 8.10. Clearing the cache and cookies has not had an effect.
May or may not be related to the above problem, but under Firefox 3.07, the My Profile link on the home page does not act as a link.
What OS are you running and do you have any plugins enabled besides firebug?
Windows XP,
Addins: McAffe SiteAdvisor 2.9
Java Quick Starter 1.0
Plugins:
A bunch of them, but I've never added any that I recollect, so I guess they come with it.
I"m seeing what I believe is the similar problem to andras.
also firefox 3.07 (IE working fine). The layout is that the left side of the site is ok, but the entire right hand side shows up below the "main page" (screen captures offered if someone wants them).
I had an eye-opener of a surprise this morning that may give you a clue about the site layout problem!
I went to the website from my work computer and the site layout looked perfect.
But, as soon as I logged in, the site layout went wonky, and the content panel on the right started appearing at the bottom of the page. If I logged out, the content panel went back to is correct location.
Enjoy!
PS: The image with the baronial arms at the top left only shows up when I am NOT logged in. When logged in, it disappears along with the login box.
That's VERY suggestive. The only section of the page that I know changes behavior grossly on login would the the block with the baronial arms. I've modified the html it's rendering. Let me know if this had any effect.
Nope, doesn't appear to have fixed it.
I'm seeing the same thing tho - if I log out the format goes to what I expect. Log back in and it's ... no longer the same.
(and if you log out in a different tab to validate and then attempt to post in the forum, you get a message that you have to be logged in. Not broken per se, but it would haev been fine if I'd cut and pasted from word!, instead I had to retype) :-)

No change in behaviour on IE.
Firefox acts worse than before. When I log out, it leaves me on http://windmastershill.org/logout and the content pane to the rght of the arms gives me a message saying I'm not authorized to see that page. It's the home page content.
*points and laughs* Dude your browser is h0sed. Hehehe.
I'll keep looking although I have almost no hope of tracking down what's screwing it up for you guys since I still can't duplicate the problem.
Both Firefox and IE are working fine now.
???
The Baronial Arms don't show up once I log on, but I know what they look like, so it doesn't much matter to me.
The My Profile link no longer shows up when I am logged in.
Yes but is the page layout fixed?
Depends on what the page layout is supposed to be...
The baronial arms do not appear when logged in.
The My Profile link does not appear when logged in.
The content panel appears to the right of the navigation panel instead of below it.
That sounds correct to me. Your post about logging in coupled with Nikulai's experimentation with non-admin accounts helped tremendously. For the time being the My Profile block will stay off the site until I've debugged it.

Did a little debugging, ran a few tests, looks like the My Profile block should stop breaking the website when people log in and don't have an avatar photo set. If anyone notices continued weirdness let me know and thanks for your help with troubleshooting this.
looks good to me.
Working great now. Thanks.
A-OK again here too. Lovely!

I beg to differ. I'm using firefox and the site looks fine. What version are you running?
